Juliana Drechsel

Juliana has studied Spanish classical dance and Flamenco, first in Brazil, and later in the U.S. and Spain, where she studied with Angelita Gómez in Jerez de la Frontera, El Guito and Merche Esmeralda.

As a soloist and dancer with Yaelisa & Caminos Flamencos since 2000, she has worked alongside artists such as Juan Ogalla, El Junco, Antonio Malena, Manuel Malena, Silverio Heredia and others. Performing and touring regularly with Caminos Flamencos, she has appeared at various company's seasons at the Cowell and Yerba Buena Theaters in San Francisco, as well as the New World Flamenco Festival in 2002. In the summer of 2003 she has appeared in "Ay! Flamenco!" with Domingo Ortega and Yaelisa & Caminos Flamencos, and performed with Martin Santangelo's Noche Flamenca at the Hollywood Bowl, with Isabel Bayón and Soledad Barrio.

She has also been a member of Mónica’s "Arte y Compás" since 1999, and performs regularly at ODC Theater’s Café Flamenco, La Tasca and Timo’s restaurants in San Francisco, Tapa the World in Sacramento, Cafe de la Paz in Berkeley, and Avance in San Rafael. Juliana also teaches throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
