JUAN
DEL GASTOR is one of the great interpreters of Gypsy flamenco guitar
alive today. Born in Moron de la Frontera, he is a nephew of the legendary
guitarist Diego del Gastor. For more than 40 years Juan has been carrying
on the family tradition of performing and teaching. He is highly sought
after by the peñas of Andalusia, in the casetas of the Feria
de Seville, during the celebration of Rocio, and frequently appears
at Sevilla’s Bienal. He has toured all over Spain and Europe and
has appeared in festivals and theatres in the USA, Argentina and Japan.
Besides his phenomenal guitar playing, Juan is a highly charismatic
singer and dancer with an open heart who transmits a contagious sense
of flamenco joy wherever he goes, inspiring all with his pure Gypsy
flamenco!

Flamenco
singer and dancer LUIS PEÑA is one of the few young singer/dancers
who are carrying on the tradition of the Gypsy festero in the style
of his maestros, Paco Valdepeña and Miguel Funi. Peña’s
place as one of Spain´s most important young artists was consecrated
in 2004 when he toured as a soloist with Manuela Carrasco´s company.
He has worked regularly in the Bienal de Sevilla and the Mont de Marsan
Flamenco festivals and has performed with many top Flamenco artists
such as El Potito and Carmen Linares. He has toured Japan, France, Norway
and most recently the U.S. with the Arte y Pureza Flamenco Company.
He recorded with Enrique El Extremeño on his latest album Tierra
de Barros. Currently, he teaches traditional Gypsy flamenco dance at
his studio in Sevilla, and tours regularly with Esperanza
Fernandez.

ANTONIO
URBAN RUGER "EL POLA" was born in Ecija, Spain in 1974. His
exposure to Flamenco started as a small child, when his father --an aficionado
himself-- took him by the hand to reunions so he could listen to cante.
In summer of 2003, El Pola wrote and recorded Tierra de Esperanza, accompanied
by Antonio Moya on guitar. He was then commissioned by the Universidad
Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla to present his work throughout Andalucía,
sharing the stage with grand artists such as Ines Bacan and Gaspar de
Utrera. Since then, El Pola has toured worldwide - most recently in Tokyo
singing for Juana Amaya and Javier Cruz. He works frequently with Juan
del Gastor in Sevilla and has just finished teaching a series of cante
workshops in New York City.

LAKSHMI
"LA GITA" is a featured performer at El Palacio Andaluz in Sevilla.
She studied extensively with the Farruco Family, Juana Amaya and Angelita
Vargas. In 2004 she performed at Seville's most important festival, the
Bienal de Arte Flamenco. She is a frequent guest artist at Sevilla's Feria
de Abril and at the penas flamencas (flamenco clubs) throughout Andalucia.
A sought after teacher, she visits the U.S. at least once a year to share
her knowledge of flamenco dance with American dance students and flamenco
aficionados.
