After ten years the San Francisco based flamenco group “Sol Y Luna” is back to celebrate their reunion with a very special “all star” line-up of international musicians and dancers. The reunion concert takes place on Friday November 16, 2007 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA.

CALENCO IS BACK!!! - The insistent, pulse-pounding rhythms of Sol Y Luna’s
“Calenco”, California Flamenco, as the group calls it, combines Flamenco and salsa montuno driven by blazing Afro-Cuban percussion.

Reuniting on November 16th are some of the most famous and talented musicians in northern California. Leading the group’s reunion is Spanish flamenco guitarist vocalist Jose Manuel Blanco “El Grillu”. Joining “El Grillu” are guitarist Don Fontowitz, congero vocalist Edgardo Cambon, bassist David Belove, flutist saxophonist Melecio Magdaluyo, Percussionist Michael Spiro, Violinist Anthony Blea, flutist John Calloway and percussionist Danilo Paiz. Making a special guest appearance is flamenco guitarist Jason McGuire “El Rubio” and flamenco dancers Yaelisa, Fani Ara and Melissa Cruz from Caminos Flamencos.
